Well, a bit about me then. I’m Adam Thompson, originally from Derbyshire but as of January 2026 I now reside near Blackpool (previously living near Cambridge from June 2018-Dec 2025).

I’m currently out of work following my move to Blackpool (for family reasons), and I’m currently looking for a new role in Computing / Information Technology (IT). I’m opening to various forms of computing whether it be creative, data keying, admin, etc.

My Creative Computing Interests

Outside of work I have a keen interest in website design/development, graphic design, and email newsletter development.

I started learning about building websites in 2001 and went on to set up and maintain websites for various local organisations including local Scout groups, local pubs, and an advanced drivers group.

I also have past experience in the world of e-mail newsletters and went on to run a weekly e-newsletter for Derbyshire Scouts, and I have also undertaken graphics work for local Scouts and RoSPA groups.

Nowadays I help out with an annual arts and crafts festival in Derbyshire, mostly working on their website and social media.

Other Interests

Away from web and blogging I have various other interests and hobbies including:

• Travel – particularly visiting places without using a car (which by the way I’ve written about on my travel blog)
• Sports – mainly going to Derby County football matches
• Photography
• Comedy
• Music
• Outdoor activities – climbing, abseiling, hiking, camping
• Digital Media
